Silverstone: Event marketing and promo campaign


Objective

Our primary objective was to promote the World Aerobatic Championships 2009, to drive ticket sales for the event. The wider objective was to position Silverstone Circuit as more than just the home of British motorsport, to communicate that Silverstone offers a whole host of exciting events throughout the year.

Solution

Following a successful pitch we devised a marketing strategy and delivered a campaign to promote the event. Once we had developed the creative concept the campaign was executed across a number of different media channels, from press advertising and outdoor billboards to online video promotions.

Result

The event itself exceeded all expectations. Throughout the weekend more than 35,000 people came through the gates to witness this prestigious event, which was held in the UK for the first time since 1986. Silverstone Air was firmly established as an annual event and we look forward to the next one.
